Marfa to Presidio Transmission Line Project

The proposed line will connect to the existing TNC Alamito Creek Substation located in Marfa, Texas and a new substation located in Presidio, Texas. The Electric Reliability Council of Texas Independent System Operator (ERCOT ISO) has determined that the line is necessary for the continued reliability of the ERCOT Region transmission system. Specifically the proposed line addresses numerous transmission service problems to the loads served by the existing TNC 69 kV transmission line from Marfa Alamito Creek to Presidio and is also necessary to support the continued growth in the Presidio area.

ETT is a new transmission utility co-owned by American Electric Power (AEP) and MidAmerican Energy Holdings Company. AEP is the parent company of AEP Texas North Company (TNC).
